ABOUT US

Bayview Garden has been in the business of loving and nurturing plants for 30 years and has been on the forefront of plant education and conservation for just as long. As a multi generational pursuit, the roots run deep and the care for the connection between plants and people even deeper. This care has humbly cultivated community and placed this connection at the center of all Bayview Garden has created.

From fulfilling garden dreams, to teaching community classes, to cultivating deep horticultural knowledge far and wide, the Bayview family is devoted to keeping the integrity of the natural world top of mind and especially the Whidbey Island ecosystem forever in our hearts and on the land.

We grow and cultivate plants that celebrate the seasons, fill your life with a riot of color, and set you up for success in building your relationship to plants or the garden of your dreams. Our specialist approach allows for a year round selection, and honors the natural beauty of Whidbey Island and its community at large.

Furthermore, we are here to answer your questions and offer treasures in our gift shop to meet all life's little moments.

We love plant education and its many metaphors with life, so follow us @bayviewgardenwhidbey on social to continue to learn about the interconnectedness of it all.

Our Founder

Maureen Murphy is the visionary behind Bayview Garden. Her expertise builds bridges—bridges between people and plants, land and community, knowledge and practice, mindset and actions. A passion for the preservation of the natural world has become family shared, is felt the strongest for Whidbey Island, and has extended globally. Maureen shares plants from a place of illuminating our connection to nature, science, and what it means to truly take care of our environment. When you carry a plant away from Bayview Garden, you are not just bringing beauty into your home, but carrying a rich relationship and commitment to the land and learning. This deeper sense of knowledge and knowing has made Maureen a trailblazer for horticulture and a connector of community for over three decades and across generations.
